First Wave of Registrations are coming in!

Friday, 27 January 2012 21:47

We welcome The Butt of Kells, TnT, & The Baskahegan Bombers to name a few!  Please remember that this year teams will save $10 by registering in advance of race day.  Registering in advance will help us plan out parking and the post race party!  Also, Team Theme Prizes go 3 deep this year!  Finally, we would greatly appreciate any snow dances that folks could do on their own time.  Thanks, Casco Bay Sports.

2011 Snowman Re-Cap

Monday, 21 February 2011 21:19

Thanks to all the teams that came out on Saturday to brave the cold and wind for this year's race!  The costumes and themes were by far the best yet...it's safe to say next year we'll be adding a "Top Three" to the Costume/Team Theme category at the awards ceremony.  The event was able to raise $300 for Portland Trails.   Help spread the word as we look to gain more momentum and build this unique event into a Portland winter classic.

Snowman Bike Leg Update

Wednesday, 16 February 2011 21:40

Upon evaluating the conditions of the cove path and in order to accommodate all levels of bikers (novice to experienced with studded tires) participants will have the opportunity to duck off the path onto Baxter Blvd between Hannaford and the 295 On-Ramp.  However, those riders choosing to enter onto the pavement at anytime will incur a time penalty to be determined Saturday and will not be in the running for the coveted Snowman Mugs.  We anticipate the Cove path conditions to improve with the incoming thaw, but this option will let anyone who wants to enter the race to do so and be comfortable from a safety standpoint.  See you Saturday!

(Note:  Riders must still be on mountain bikes!)
